CLEVELAND- Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel will start for the team’s home opener against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, the team announced on Friday.

Manziel, who has been dealing with elbow issues, had a touchdown, an interception and two fumbles after Josh McCown came out of the game against the Jets. Cleveland lost 31-10.

“I think it was a good week. I am extremely comfortable. I think everyone that has been in there this week feels really good about what our scheme is and what our plan is and looks forward to Sunday and getting ready for the game,” Manziel said.

McCown suffered a concussion during last Sunday’s game and has been following the NFL’s protocol on head injuries. McCown had been expected to practice, and coach Mike Pettine said if he did, the 36-year-old veteran would play against the Titans.

The Browns announced Manziel’s start before Friday’s practice was opened to the media.

This will be Manziel’s third start  NFL start.
