Adam’s Reserve Cheddar & Black Bean Burger
Compliments of: Adam’s Reserve Cheddar
Makes: 4 large burgers
- 2 ea Black Beans, cans, drained
- 1 C Panko Bread Crumbs
- 1 Egg
- 1 T Fresh Garlic, fine chopped
- ¼ C Onions, diced fine
- 1 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- ½ t Dark Chili Powder
- 2 T Fresh Cilantro, chopped
- ½ t Kosher Salt
- ¼ t Fresh Ground Black Pepper
- ¾ C Adams Reserve Cheddar, grated
- 6 Adams Reserve Cheddar slices
In a sauté pan over medium-high heat, sauté the onions, garlic and chili powder in the olive oil for about 2 minutes or until the onions turn translucent.
Transfer the onion mixture to a bowl. Add in the remaining ingredients, except the cheddar. Mash everything together with a potato masher or the back of a fork until the beans have broken down but there are still some whole beans in the mix.
Fold in the cheddar, cover the mixture and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Form into “burgers” and sauté them in a little oil or butter. Be sure the inside of the patties gets above 165˚F to be sure the egg has fully cooked.
Top with a slice of cheddar and serve while still warm with your favorite bun, toppings and sauces!
