BRUNSWICK, Ohio – Brunswick police confirm that Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert was involved in a road rage incident on Friday.

According to the report, Gilbert crashed his car into a culvert on West 130th Street because he was distracted by a car that had been following him on 71 in Middleburg Heights.

Gilbert was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control.

The driver of the car following Gilbert was issued a misdemeanor citation for disorderly conduct.

“I stopped over and visited my mom, just happened to be driving down the road and snapped a shot of the picture of the car and put it on Facebook saying ‘hey look idiots can’t drive in the rain’ and it ended up being Justin Gilbert,” witness Krystal Paserk said. “I did actually see them standing out there, but I didn’t know who they were.”

Authorities say no one was injured during the crash.

On Saturday, the Browns told Fox 8 that the accident will not impact Gilbert’s ability to play on Sunday against the Jets.
