Driver cited for intoxication after car smashes into tree, injuring child

CLEVELAND - The driver of a car that smashed in to a tree Monday morning has been cited for intoxication.

The accident happened near the intersection of East 123rd and Saywell Avenue in Cleveland at around 9:30 a.m.

Police tell Fox 8 that at of the injured, one was an 11-year-old boy who was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 30-year-old man was also injured and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, but nothing is known about his condition.

The driver of the car, Casius Steele, 31, was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular assault, endangering children and driver intoxication.
