BROOKPARK, OH – Some Northeast Ohioans took time out from their Labor Day weekend to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11.

The ’14th Anniversary of Never Forget 9/11 Ceremony’ was held Sunday morning at Kennedy Park in Brookpark. The ceremony was held to remember the nearly 3,000 Americans who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Also honored were those who lost their lives in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Speakers included retired New York Firefighter John Murphy and Major Peter Drury of the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio National Guard.

After the ceremony, organizers held  a “Never Forget 9/11” police escorted processional motorycycle ride that travelled through Brookpark, Olmsted Township, North Olmsted, Westlake, Bay Village, Avon Lake and Avon.
