ELYRIA - The Lorain County coroner has identified the woman who drowned Friday in an Elyria pond.

An autopsy will be performed today on 31-year-old Quishawn Johnson of Elyria, who was pulled from the water shortly after 6:30 p.m.

Lorain County Sheriff’s Office and Lorain County Metroparks officers were called out to the Carlisle Reservation Duck Ponds later Friday afternoon on reports of a drowning.  When they arrived, they were told that two people had attempted to locate a woman in distress in the water, but were unable to find her. The fire department's dive team was able to locate her body and she was transported to University Hospitals in Elyria where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing.
