Cleveland Browns reduce roster, Pat Devlin and Thad Lewis among cuts

BEREA – The Cleveland Browns have made their final roster cuts in order to get the team down to the NFL maximum 53 players before the start of the season.

Among those cut, quarterbacks Pat Devlin and Thad Lewis were cut. Now the only quarterbacks on the roster are Josh McCown, Johnny Manziel and Connor Shaw. Shaw is expected to be out for quite awhile after having thumb surgery. Devlin only signed with the team in late August.

Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor has made the team as a wide receiver although he missed three of the four preseason games with hamstring issues and did not catch one pass in the final preseason game.

The Browns finished the preseason 1-3 and start their regular season against the New York Jets on September 13.
