CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Google Doodles is honoring the very first traffic light -- which was right here in Cleveland.

One hundred and one years ago, the first electric traffic light started blinking at the corner of East 105th Street and Euclid Avenue.

Wednesday's Google Doodles image shows what traffic was like back in 1914. The lights gave police officers who had to direct cars and horse-drawn wagons a break.

The light only featured the colors red and green. The yellow light wasn't added until years later.
