DNC: ‘It doesn’t really matter’ which candidates appear in GOP debate

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The first Republican presidential debate is set for Thursday right here in Cleveland.

It will feature the top 10 leading candidates for the GOP nomination; there are a total of 17 contenders.

The debate is set for 9 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Democratic National Committee will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Thursday to comment on the debate.

The committee released a video statement Monday, in which DNC National Press Secretary Holly Shulman said it didn't matter which candidates make the cut because "they're all pushing the same failed policies."
