Business benefit: GOP debate brings positive impact to Cleveland

CLEVELAND-- In one week, Cleveland will be thrown into the national spotlight as the first presidential debate takes place downtown.

The Republican debate is creating a buzz among the candidates, voters and local businesses, who are excited for the extra exposure the debate and next year's convention is bringing.

TownHall restaurant in Ohio City is a business seeing a big benefit to the debate and upcoming Republican National Convention.

Owner, Robert George, said even though it's a year way, they are getting three or four calls a week from people booking events, inquiring about events and restaurant space.

George is excited about the opportunity and said these big events get owners excited to invest in their businesses, which spills over to the city. "It's awesome. First of all, it's awesome for the city that these events are happening in Cleveland and for me, it's an honor. We are not necessarily supporting the Republicans; we are not necessarily supporting the Democrats. We respect the position."

TownHall will be holding a meet and greet with Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio Wednesday, Aug. 5. *CLICK HERE for more information on the event.*
