Chef Zack Bruell says homemade mayonnaise is a perfect staple to have around during the summer months to dress up grilled foods and leftovers. Chef Bruell shared his recipe with Fox 8's Kristi Capel and Zack also reminded us that there is still time to take the Tour de Bruell.

Mayonnaise from scratch
1 egg yolk
1 cup olive oil
½ tsp. Dijon mustard
salt and pepper to taste
Place egg yolk in mixing bowl with mustard. Whisk together and then slowly add olive oil until thick and eggy flavor is gone. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Take mayonnaise and add diced garlic to taste. Understand that the garlic will get stronger over time. A touch of lemon juice can also be added.
Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette
1 cup homemade mayonnaise
1/3 cup balsamic or red wine vinegar
1 tsp. chopped fresh tarragon
