Man accused of posing as Warrensville Heights officer at murder scene

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS - William Mills appeared in court on Wednesday after he was arrested for posing as a police officer at a murder scene.

He entered a not guilty plea in court Wednesday.

Authorities say he was walking through a crime scene Tuesday morning holding a flashlight. He also had a badge that said police.

When questioned, he said he was a detective with Warrensville Heights Police Department.

After more questioning, Mills admitted that he was really a crossing guard and wanted to honor a friend who had died.
