Police look for suspect after jewelry store in Strongsville robbed

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio- Police are searching for the man responsible for an armed robbery at a Strongsville jewelry store.

Police said they were called to Jared, located on Royalton Road, at about 10:25 a.m. Thursday for a robbery.

According to the 911 call, the robber was a man wearing a camouflage ski mask and sunglasses. He was carrying a silver handgun and a duffel bag.

Officers and K-9 units searched nearby businesses and a surrounding wooded area. The armed suspect remains on the loose.

No injuries were reported.

Police said a nearby day care was put on lockdown as a precaution.
