CLEVELAND HEIGHTS – The Fox 8 I-Team obtained stunning video that shows the arrest of an upset father, who went to a school playground with a gun, to confront kids he says were harassing his children.

The arrest of 48-year-old John Lee was caught on police body camera and released to Fox 8.

Lee was arrested Saturday at the playground at Noble Elementary School.

The officer can be heard calling dispatch, saying he had a man with a gun and requesting back up.

“I’m not here to shoot you, relax,” the officer can be heard telling the man. “Put your hands up.”

Lee was arrested on several charges, including carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon on school premises. He plead not guilty and is free on bond.

Several witnesses say Lee pulled up his shirt showing children he had a gun.

Cleveland Heights Police Chief Jeffrey Robertson tells the I-Team the situation could have turned tragic quickly and credits his officers for handling the matter very professionally.

The chief says if parents believe their children are being bullied, they should contact police for help.

“Give us a call,” Robertson said. “We can handle the situation in a lot more efficient way.”
