FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A ‘shaming’ video that a Florida father posted online is going viral — not because of what he did to his son in it, but because of the message he was trying to send to parents.

Today.com reports that Wayman Gresham sat his son, Isaiah, in a chair and started recording.

He says, “I’m here to teach my son a lesson…I’m pretty sure you’ve seen many videos with parents cutting their kids’ hair. And today, I’m gonna follow suit.”

Wayman has clippers in his hand, and appears as though he’s going to shave Isaiah’s head because of something he did.

Instead, he tells his son to stand up, and then gives him a big hug.

He says that the trend of posting ‘shaming videos’, where parents might give their kids an unusual haircut or yell at them, is unneeded and embarrassing.

“There is no way in the world I would ever embarrass my son like that,” he says. “Good parenting starts before he even gets to the point of being out of control.”

The video has gotten over 19 million views.
