Canton man walks into police HQ, confesses to shooting wife

CANTON, OH – A Canton man walked into police headquarters at 8:30 in the morning Saturday and announced that he had shot his wife.

Officers went to the couple’s home at 1115 Eighth St. NW and found 40-year-old Pebbles McCroskey in bed with an apparent gunshot wound to the head, according to  Capt. Dave Davis. McCroskey was taken to Aultman Hospital, where  she was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m. An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.

Jessie O. McCroskey, 36, was arrested on charges of felonious assault and weapons charges. Police tell Fox 8 that they expect more charges to be filed in light of her death. He was taken to the Stark county jail and is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, May 26th.
