Body located near area where kayaker was allegedly murdered by fiancee

NEW YORK – A New York man disappeared while kayaking with his fiancee last month, she was charged with his murder even though his body wasn’t found.

Saturday, police located a body near in the Hudson River, but they have yet to officially confirm is is Vincent Viafore, 46.

His fiancee, Angelika Graswald, 35, was charged with second-degree murder after she admitted to police that she tampered with the kayak so it would take on water, according to ABC News.

Prosecutors also say Graswald told officials it “felt good knowing that he was going to die,” and had implied that “this was her only way out.”

Her alleged motive was collecting two life insurance policies totaling about $250,000.

Graswald’s lawyer said he plans to challenge the confessions.

Her bail has been set at $3 million.
