Startled teen shoots friend through bedroom window

BILLINGS, Montana — A surprise visit to a friend’s home in the middle of the night led to a Montana teen’s death.

KTVQ reports that two friends were having a sleepover Saturday night and left the house to visit another one of their friends. At about 2:30 a.m., the boys knocked on their friend’s window and threw rocks at the house to wake him up.

The friend told police he was startled by the noise, and when he saw two people outside, he was scared. So he grabbed a gun a fired out the window.

One of the teens, a 15-year-old high school sophomore, was killed. No charges have been filed.
