‘Just give them the money’: Criminals give advice to help you avoid being a victim

We are bringing you a series of I-Team reports to help protect you from crime and we’re actually getting the advice from hardened criminals.

Tonight, we're hearing from convicted criminals in their own words. Their advice to help you avoid becoming a victim. The best thing you can do is know your enemy. The I-Team sent out dozens of surveys to convicts in Ohio prisons, but some did much more than answer questions; they wrote back notes, even heartfelt letters-- one about a murder.  A number of prisoners went out of their way to tell us they weren't thinking straight for their crimes, saying they did what they did while on drugs or to support a habit, making these crimes harder to predict.
