PEARLAND, Texas — A woman arrested in the deaths of her baby twins broke out into a smile when she was arrested on Mother’s Day.

KTRK reports that Barbara Ramirez-Sifuentes, 21, faces manslaughter charges in the February deaths of her 15-month-old daughters. Sifuentes was arrested on Sunday.

As she was handcuffed and taken into custody, Sifuentes appears to be smiling.

Investigators say Sifuentes left her daughters, Sabrina and Savanna, in the bathtub with the water running while she was cleaning and listening to music in another room.

Daily Mail reports that Sifuentes called 911 and performed CPR on one of her daughters after finding them, and the girls’ uncle and brother were home at the time of the incident.

Sifuentes’ attorney and husband have defended her, saying she was a loving mom and that this was a “horrible accident.”
