EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Division of State Fire Marshal ruled the fire at an East Cleveland apartment building arson.

It happened just before 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Euclid Emerald Apartments on Euclid Avenue.

The state fire marshal said the fire was intentionally set in the building’s basement and laundry room. Four of the apartment’s six units were occupied and firefighters rescued several residents.

“Even if you don’t think the information is relevant, it could bring the entire case together for our investigators,” State Fire Marshal Larry L. Flowers said in a news release.

Anyone with information should call the State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau at 1-800-589-2728. The Blue Ribbon Arson Committee is offering a reward up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
