Man charged in murders of five people in Cleveland home

CLEVELAND-- Charges have been filed against the suspect accused in the murders of five people in a Cleveland home.

James E. Sparks Henderson, 19, was charged Thursday with five counts of aggravated murder. Investigators are going to a grand jury to pursue weapons charges against Henderson. Due to prior offenses, he was not allowed to have a gun.

On Wednesday, almost six months after the murders, police announced the arrest.

In November, 2014, Sherita Johnson, her unborn baby, Sherita’s 19-year-old son, Ja’rio Taylor, his friend, 17-year-old Shaylona Williams, and the mother’s boyfriend, 60-year-old Lemon Bryant were all killed.

Police said a masked man shot and killed them all at a home near East 92nd Street and Wade Park Avenue.  In addition to their five deaths, Johnson’s 9-year old daughter was also shot, but she survived.
