TULSA, Oklahoma-Charges have been filed against a 26-year-old Oklahoma woman accused of attacking a dead woman during her funeral.

Sergeant Shane Tuell, with the Tulsa Police Department, said “Hair that was removed from the decedent on the floor near the casket, as well as the makeup on the face of the decedent was smeared and there was a laceration to the face.”

The deceased woman’s family told FOX 23 News,  they saw Shaynna Smith reaching into the casket at the Moore Funeral Home Eastlawn Chapel last Thursday evening, but didn’t notice anything until after she left.

Police said when they found Smith at the victim’s apartment later that evening, she had a knife with her and a box-cutter.

Police said the women had been friendly acquaintances at one point, but they also dated the same man.

Smith  has been charged with misdemeanor illegal dissection.
