Video: Akron police rescue four puppies from cage on top of van

AKRON- Akron police pulled over a van that had a cage strapped to the top of it with four puppies inside.

rescueThe van was pulled over Friday around 2 p.m. on I-76 East. Police rescued the puppies and took them to a local veterinarian to get checked out. The animals are okay. They will go to the Summit County Animal Shelter, where they will eventually be up for adoption.

According to police, the family told officers that they were on their way to give the puppies to someone.

No charges will be filed.
