CLEVELAND-The FOX 8 News I-Team has learned Cleveland police are tracking new leads in the cold case murder of a woman found murdered at an abandoned building in March 2013.

Court records show homicide detectives are asking new questions about the 2013 murder of Jazmine Trotter.

Investigators are checking phone records of a man already awaiting trial for another murder. And he has already done time for voluntary manslaughter as well.

Records show the man worked at the same temp agency as Jazmine Trotter, lived near there, and was “very attentive” to news stories about the case.

Back in March of 2013, Jazmine Trotter was found dead in the basement of a house below the back porch. The medical examiner found she died of blunt force trauma.

Her case made headlines due to the mystery surrounding what happened to her and other attacks on women in that area around the same time.
