FOX 8 News has been honored by the prestigious National Headliner Awards. It is unusual for a station to win more than one Headliner in a year; and this year, FOX 8 received three first-place awards. One of the awards is for an I-Team series: "The Ghost of the River Burning."

It took an in-depth look at the sources of the algae bloom on Lake Erie last summer that rendered Northwest Ohio's water toxic for an entire weekend.

The award is shared by Bill Sheil, Mary Stiene, and photojournalist Ali Ghanbari.
