Cleveland police investigating several felonious assault shootings from overnight

CLEVELAND – Cleveland police in the third district are investigating a felonious assault shooting that occurred around 1 a.m. outside the Masonic temple at E. 36th Street and Chester Avenue.

Officers responded to shots fired but didn’t locate a victim. Later on, it was reported there was a shooting victim getting treated at University Hospital.

The 19-year-old victim was taken in by family members after he realized he had been shot in his hand outside the temple. Shell casings were discovered and there are currently no suspects.

Cleveland police in the fourth district are investigating a triple felonious assault shooting from 4061 E. 71st Street, Big Boss Lounge, around 2 a.m. Initial investigation lead detectives to believe an argument began inside the bar, causing security to ask several males to leave.

The men then shot at each other outside the bar and one victim was transported to Metro. Two other victims were taken to Metro and Charity hospitals. No weapons were recovered and no arrests have been made yet.

Cleveland police are also investigating a third felonious assault shooting from around 2:15 a.m. around E. 67th Street. Fifth district officers responded to calls of a male shot in the area of 6735 St. Clair. The victim was found shot within a large crowd and taken to Metro.

A second victim was transported for blunt force trauma to his head and is said to be in stable, but serious condition. No arrests were made at the scene.
