YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Sources confirm to the Fox 8 I-Team that a suspect in the rape of a girl who died in a house fire asked to be taken to the hospital for treatment of what are allegedly burns.

WKBN reports that Robert Seman Jr., 46, was trying to conceal the burns with make-up at a Monday court appearance.

Seman faces rape charges involving a child that died in an early morning house fire on the city’s south side early Monday. The girl’s two grandparents were also killed in the fire.

Seman does not face charges in the fire, but his home was searched by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation after the incident.

Seman’s trial was to begin Monday, but after news of the fatal fire, a judge delayed it and revoked his bond.
