Donut Muffins are a perfect breakfast addition, but also good anytime of the day. Fox 8's Todd Meany learned how to make the sweet treat from his mom Vicki Meany, who's been baking this recipe for the family for years.

Donut Muffins

Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix (or homemade sweet dough)
Mini muffin pans (2-24 muffins)
Grated nutmeg
2 cups sugar melted with 2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/2 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 350-degrees
Follow directions for Hot Roll Mix Cinnamon Rolls and add 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
Allow dough to rise until doubled

Spray mini muffin pans with cooking spray
Roll mini balls, approximately 1 TBS and place in prepared pans
Let mini balls double in size

Bake in preheated oven for 8 minutes or until slightly golden
Immediately pop out onto a towel
Roll mini muffins in melted butter and then toss in cinnamon sugar mixture

note: Instead of rolling in Cinnamon sugar, you can dip into caramel sauce or roll in powdered sugar
You can also fill with chocolate or Nutella and then dip into caramel
You can also roll in cinnamon sugar and fill with your favorite filling!
The possibilities are endless! Be creative!
