Body found in Ashland field identified

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Cuyahoga County coroner has identified the name of the body that was found yesterday in a field in Ashland County.

The remains of Rebekah Leicy of Mansfield were found by a gas worker behind a large tree while checking wells on County Road 1908 just before 11 a.m. Ms. Leicy was reported missing on February 6th. The cause of her death will be determined by a full autopsy.

Mansfield Police Chief Ken Coontz advised that the Division of Police will continue to actively investigate this case along with the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office.
