GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio – A police involved shooting is under investigation in Garfield Heights at this hour.

It started early this morning on Broadway when Garfield Heights police tried to pull over a car driven by 30-year-old Tony Primm of Garfield Heights. Primm sped away onto Granger Road with the police following. He eventually lost control of his car and ran into the front yard of a home, crashing into the front porch.

According to the police, Grimm then jumped out of the car and began firing at officers with an assault rifle. Officers returned fire and Primm surrendered. No one was hit by bullets in this exchange.

While he was being arrested, though, Primm admitted to shooting someone at a house on Broadway. When police arrived there, they found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound. That man’s name has not been released. Police also took a man and woman who were inside the house in for questioning.

Garfield Police, along with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, continue to gather information on this incident. Stay tuned to Fox 8 and Fox8.com for further developments.
