LIBERTY, Mo. -- A 12-year-old boy with autism was hospitalized after a brutal assault at his school.

According to WDAF, an older boy beat Blake Kitchen in the cafeteria at Liberty Middle School. Blake's parents say had they warned the school principal a month prior about the son's attacker.

The attack allegedly happened Thursday when the older boy moved Blake's belongings from a seat. When Blake asked him to move, the boy reportedly started beating him.

Blake was hospitalized for four days with a jaw line fracture, fractured skull and ear damage.

The boy who allegedly beat Blake is in juvenile detention.

The Liberty School District said they are reviewing the incident.
