Five arrests stop burglaries in south Lorain, police say

LORAIN, Ohio- After several suspects were arrested, Lorain police say there have been no burglaries in one area of the city.

Starting in December, residents of the southern section of Lorain were the victims of burglaries.

According to the Lorain Police Department, the majority of these thefts were committed by groups of high-school aged boys working in groups as lookouts or knocking on doors. Many of the crimes happened during the day.

So far, Joshua O. Cruz, Wiljomar Irizarry Jr., 19; Jeffrey Ousley, 19; Corrina Magrum, 45, and a juvenile were arrested, but the investigation continues. Police said in the two weeks since their arrests, there have been no burglaries reported in that part of the Lorain.
