People across Northeast Ohio are getting a chance to see the Oscar nominated film 'American Sniper' free of charge, all while supporting a good cause.

A local group has bought out two movie theaters at Atlas Great Lakes in Mentor to help Daniel Hanson.

Hanson is a former marine who served three tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He injured his back and spine while serving, and also suffers from PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder). The injuries have left him unable to work.

Platinum Real Estate organized the fundraiser with a goal of raising $10,000. The money will help Hanson pay for medical costs, and to get back to work.

On January 19, 'American Sniper' will be shown at Atlas Great Lakes in Mentor at 6:30 p.m. The fundraiser has gained so much attention a second theater has been opened for viewing.

A gofundme account has been set up in Hanson's name for donations.
