‘Harry Potter’ actor passes away after 50-year acting career

David Ryall, the actor who played Elphias Doge in the “Harry Potter” movies, has passed away.

Ryall, 79, died on Christmas Day, according to tweets from his daughter, Charlie Ryall, and actor Mark Gatiss.

According to Variety, he was an actor for more than 50 years. He appeared in “City of Ember,” “Around the World in 80 Days,” and “The Elephant Man.”

Ryall began playing the Elphias Doge character in 2010 in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.”
