AKRON – Police approached Eric Gunsberg on Christmas to ask what he was carrying under his coat, and according to Akron Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards, he told them “Christmas presents for the kids.”

Officers asked Gunsberg to tell them what he was actually carrying when he dropped the contents of his coat and ran.

He was carrying nine cell phones and a 3-inch steak knife.

Later on, police discovered the Boost Mobile store on East Tallmadge Avenue had been broken into.

Gunsberg has since been charged with breaking and entering, obstructing official business and carrying a concealed weapon and was booked at Summit County Jail.
