1 man shot to death, another injured in home invasion

MASSILLON, Ohio — A man was shot to death and another was injured during a home invasion in Massillon Friday night.

According to Massillon police, it happened at about 11:30 p.m. at a residence in the 500 block of Neale Avenue S.W.

Police were called to reports of a man with a gunshot wound. When they arrived at the scene, they found two men had been shot.

Tonio J. Manson, 24, was shot in the leg and chest. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The second man was shot in the upper arm area. He is expected to recover.

Manson’s girlfriend was also in the home at the time of the incident. She was not injured.

Police say Manson and the other man had just arrived at the residence when two men forced their way in behind them. The four men got into a physical fight, and shots were fired.

The suspects then fled on foot.
