Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel placed on injured reserve

BEREA, Ohio- Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel’s season is officially over.

The team announced the former Heisman trophy-winner was moved to the injured reserve on Wednesday.

Manziel suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s loss against the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Brian Hoyer was also hurt in that game, prompting the Browns to sign Tyler Thigpen.

The first-round draft pick started in two games and had 175 passing yards.
