BARBERTON, Ohio- A Barberton woman is pleading for the return of her service dog, which she believes was stolen from her home.

Brittany Hess told police she arrived at her apartment on Dec. 12 and found her back door was partially open. According to the police report, there were no signs of forced entry.

“I am concerned someone saw that she was a service dog and thought they could try to sell her to make themselves money,” Hess told Fox 8 News.

The service dog, named Sam, is a white German shepherd with a pink nose.

Hess just wants her dog home safe. The dog can be returned to the Barberton Police Department or Summit County Animal Control.
