Couple discovers hundreds of WWII love letters in attic of their home

LUBBOCK, Texas – One couple was in for quite a surprise while cleaning the air vents in the attic of their new home.

Hiding in the back corner, Andy Green saw a pillowcase and asked his wife Jessica to come open it with him, according to KCBD.

Inside it, hundreds of old letters, which the couple later determined to be from the 1940s. They started organizing them by date and noticed that the letters chronicled a love story between an Navy officer and his wife.

The Greens tracked down the family and plan to return the letters to them.
