COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Brett Kean threw for two second-half touchdowns to lead Lakewood St. Edward to a 31-21 win against Huber Heights Wayne in the Division I state championship game in Ohio Stadium.

St. Edward (13-2) won its previous title in 2010, also beating Wayne.

Kean’s second TD went to Michael O’Malley from 5 yards with 5:44 left in the game for the final margin and capped a nine-play, 46-yard drive after Wayne (13-2) pulled to within 24-21 when Robert Landers scored from 13 yards after recovering a St. Edward’s fumble.

Before that, St. Edward increased a three-point halftime advantage to 24-14 just 50 seconds into the fourth when Kean completed a 6-yard scoring pass to Frank Gelb on the fourth down.
