Police: Several face charges after ‘drug dealers’ call 911 on masked men

MENTOR, Ohio — Several people face charges after a group of suspects attempted to rob two men of their marijuana and cash in Mentor.

According to Mentor police, the group of two suspects and three juveniles were masked when they arrived at the mens’ apartment complex. When the men saw the masked suspects, they called 911.

The group fled in a vehicle as officers arrived and commanded them to stop.

An officer eventually got the driver to stop, and one of the passengers fled on foot. The driver of the car, Anthony Richardson, 24, of Painesville, was arrested at the scene as were two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old, according to police.

The passenger who fled, Delmar Ware, of Painesville, was arrested a few days later.

Richardson faces charges of aggravated robbery, marijuana trafficking, failure to comply with an officer, possession of criminal tools, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy.

Ware faces charges of aggravated robbery, marijuana trafficking, failure to comply with an officer, possession of criminal tools, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, conspiracy, carrying a concealed weapon, weapons under disability, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and obstruction of official business.

The men who live in the apartment complex face charges of trafficking in marijuana and possession of criminal tools. A shotgun was also seized from their apartment.
