CLEVELAND – Black Friday shoppers are catching an extra savings break in downtown Cleveland Friday.

The city is offering free meter parking for shoppers and restaurant goers.

In a press release, Councilman Zack Reed said, “Waiving downtown parking meter fees on Black Friday gives us the opportunity to compete with free parking in suburban malls.” He added, “Shoppers looking to pick up gifts at our unique shops downtown or dine in our fine restaurants won’t have to worry about feeding coins into parking meters or getting cited with parking tickets.”

The city offers the same deal on the day after Christmas.
