AKRON, Ohio — An Akron police officer shot and wounded a domestic violence suspect Thursday evening.

Officers were called to a domestic fight at the 200 block of East North Street shortly after 10 p.m. Police say the suspect threatened to kill a female in the residence.

Police say the male suspect was armed with two knives at the female throat. After several verbal commands to drop the knives, an officer fired several shots at the suspect. The suspect was struck in the right leg and dropped the knives.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Earion R. Feaster, was transported to Akron General Medical Center for his injuries. Police say the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

The female victim, her mother and two children inside the home were not injured.

Feaster is charged with domestic violence, two counts of felonious assault and abduction. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
