LAKEWOOD, Ohio — A former Lakewood High School band director will spend time in jail for having sex with a student.
Nathan Harris was sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation and lost his teaching license in Ohio. He also has to register as a tier 3 sex offender.
In court Thursday, Harris apologized in court to the parents of the student. The parents did not speak.
Harris was arrested this summer after a ranger in the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks saw a parked car with two people in the back seat having sex. The male juvenile in the car was identified as one of his students.
Harris admitted to having sex with him.
