Crews battle overnight house fire

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — One person was able to escape a house fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage early Thursday in Warrensville Heights.

According to authorities, the fire broke out overnight at a home in the 4600 block of Walford Road. The road was closed while crews worked to put out the fire.

A 49-year-old man was found and taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire caused about $35,000 in damage. There’s no official cause yet on what may have started the blaze.
