Small but mighty: Young fist-bumping fan inspires athletes

BOSTON — He’s capturing national attention for his fist bumps.

According CBS Boston, young Boston Bruins fan, Liam Fitzgerald, 8, has down syndrome and has successfully battled leukemia.

Last month, the Bruins held an event called Hockey Fights Cancer, but Liam wasn’t able to attend. In return, the team invited him to sit on the bench at Tuesday night’s game.

That’s when a photographer caught little Liam fist bumping every Bruins player as he was leaving the ice.

Liam was also named Fan of the Game that night.
