Woman ties up clerks, robs Family Dollar of cash & merchandise

ORWELL, Ohio — Police are investigating after a woman wielding a handgun robbed a Family Dollar, using rope to tie the hands and feet of the clerks.

According to the Orwell Police Department, it happened at 9 p.m. Nov. 7 at the store located at 63 S. Maple Ave.

Reports state that an unidentified female entered the store while no other customers were inside. She had a gun, and forced the clerks to open the cash registers and safes before binding their hands and feet with rope.

She took an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise before fleeing from the scene on foot.

The woman is described as being 5’2″ tall and 140 pounds. She was wearing a blue hoodie, black jogging pants and black tennis shoes.
