19th Annual Tri-C® High School Rock Off!

Last Three Bands Graduate to Final Exam

 CLEVELAND, OH – January 27, 2015 – After five semi-final rounds and 48 bands, the 15 Final Exam performers have been selected and are ready to prove it all night, Saturday, February 7 at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum!

The Tri-C® High School Rock Off judges from Round 5 selected these three bands to compete in The Final Exam:

 Ceiling – Orrville, Smithville

Treble Breathing – Amherst Steele, Avon Lake, St. Ignatius

Jack’s Mom – Erie City, Erie Day, Fairview, Girard, Millcreek (PA)

The 19th Annual Tri-C® High School Rock Off is presented by Live Nation, WJW Fox 8, Scene Magazine and 96.5 KISS FM.  Participating sponsors include, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum, The Ohio Army National Guard, The Guitar Center, School of Rock, MetroPCS, Jim Stewart Recording, and Tri-C® Recording Arts and Technology School.  A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum’s educational activities.   The event is produced by Live Nation.

Tickets for the Rock Off are only $10.00 and include admission to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum exhibits during the hours of the Rock Off events. Purchase tickets from the participating Rock Off performers, on line at http://www.rockhall.com or at The Rock Hall box office.

The official website is www.kisscleveland.com/rockoff with the most up-to-date information, photos, videos, music…anything Rock Off related… For the semi-final rounds, the doors will open at 6:00pm with the 1st band starting at 6:30pm. All of the prize money is courtesy of the local School of Rock franchise. The winning band will receive $1,000 cash, $250 for their respective high school music program and a $1,000 gift card courtesy of The Guitar Center. Second place will receive $250 cash and $150 for their respective high school music program and Third place will receive $100 cash.

The winning band will also receive the opportunity to open up for a Live Nation or House of Blues Concert and an appearance on Tri-C®’s cable television  program Crooked River Groove and Perform a 45-minute concert in front of a studio audience while being professionally videotaped and recorded. In addition, the band will be featured on the three-time Emmy Award-winning program Words & Music, with an interview and unplugged performance. Both
shows are produced by Cuyahoga Community College’s Smart TV, with support from the Recording Arts & Technology Program.

The winning band will also receive an appearance on FOX 8!

Each of the 15 finalist bands will also receive a $25 gift card courtesy of The Guitar Center.

All 15 finalists will record one original song at Tri-C®’s Center for Creative Arts world class recording studios produced by Jim Stewart. These songs will be available as free downloads on www.kisscleveland.com/rockoff at the time of The Final Exam on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Admission to the Rock Off includes admission to the Rock Hall exhibits during the Rock Off event hours.
