For the short time he lived, he was loved.

The baby whose parents completed a bucket list for him before he was born died Thursday.

Baby Shane came into this world only hours before he passed.

His mother, Jenna Haley, was just 13 weeks pregnant when doctors told her that her son had anencephaly, which is a terminal brain defect.  The life expectancy of babies with the condition ranges from hours to days.

Jenna and her husband, Dan, made headlines when they put together a bucket list and took Shane on lots of adventures and to some of their favorite childhood places while he was still in the womb.

Shane died peacefully in his mother’s arms, according to the Prayers for Shane Facebook post.

“Shane spent his entire life in the arms of people that loved him unconditionally and I don’t think you could ask for a more beautiful life than that.  He is home now with the Lord and will forever be our little miracle!” it said.
